Sildenafil and Self-Medication

The rising cost of medicine and the belief that people should have the innate right of choice at all times prompted many people to self medicate rather than visiting their doctors or going to the hospitals. The endless bureaucracy in hospitals and the numerous money-making schemes caused many people to ignore the hospital system and go back to a more traditional approach in medicine where the individual is cured through personal efforts, help from family members and advices from the immediate community.

Sildenafil and its predecessors has been the most controversial drug in the United States. There are claims that the use of the blue pill leads to abuse because of its capacity to help solve erectile dysfunction. The abuse is also common among healthy young men who are capable of getting erection on their own. The State then used its might police arm to regulate the blue pill because of rumors of deaths and drug abuse among youngsters.

On the other side of the issue are those who advocate lesser government regulation. These groups of people advocate a more laissez-faire approach on the use of sildenafil . However, the opposite is true as the governments become bigger and bigger, and impose tougher regulation based on debatable scientific theories. People have the right to use and abuse what they buy arising from their right to property. According to the libertarians, the government has no right regulate the medical and recreational use of tadalafil. The regulation has created the black market where frat boys buy the blue pills for $50 or more, and it has also created small drug wars among producers in the drug market. Thus, these groups argue that the government should put an end to the numerous regulations imposed and the State must only come in if there is a valid reason to prevent an evil caused by these drugs.
